If you’re reading this, you’re seeing the site on its new server. Things are looking good so far, and this time we’re in the hands of smart people I can contact personally if I run into problems. Hopefully this will put the past few months’ hosting troubles behind us.

Wow. Much faster. How much more does this cost, again?
This isn’t the DreamHost VPS. I tried that for a month, and even jacking it up to the $40/month level it wasn’t serving up the site very well. My static pages were loading fine, so I suspect the problem was with the load on their databases.
I may keep a basic DH account for email, registrations, and hosting a few basic sites, but not for this blog. This is now hosted at a server maintained by a friend’s brother-in-law.
Damn. I’m still on DreamHost and would be at least mildly interested in faster alternative. Sadly my friends don’t have any brothers-in-law.
